The challenge
A head hunter from Bending Spoons invited me to me to participate in the contest back in 2021. I received a briefing to create an application for a fictional app “Homely”. The app’s purpose was to allows it’s user t rent tools for their crafty projects.
What was needed
The briefing asked for 4 items in order to qualify to review by the jury

My vision for the app was bold, fun and because I figured from the briefing’s description of the user persona that it’s probably an app for younger people who have not yet accumulated a ton of tools as someone more mature might have.
Hence I picked loud colours and a brutalist design approach making the app as direct as possible. I also made custom detailed illustrations to really go with the show-don’t-tell approach, which was seemingly hinted at by the briefing.
