About

Sofia Efremenko

Born in 1999, St. Petersburg

Based in Berlin since 2017

My work does not seek a predetermined destination but instead embraces the journey of exploration. Each piece becomes a meditation on the subtle moments and overlooked narratives that populate our daily lives. In an era obsessed with instant gratification and algorithmic validation, my art deliberately shifts focus to the margins, to the quiet intervals between spectacular events.

By rejecting the “viral-or-bust” mentality, I create spaces of reflection that challenge viewers to reconsider their relationship with perception and presence. The work invites a more contemplative engagement, suggesting that meaning is not always found in the loudest or most visible moments, but often in the delicate, almost imperceptible transitions that define our lived experience.
